When and how did the business get started?
In May of 2009, Jane Carrier and Skip Symanski opened Elixir Restaurant in downtown White River Junction, VT. After a walk through of the old railroad freight house they knew it would be the perfect location for a small restaurant. Following a very successful run, much to the dismay of the community, they decided to retire in April 2022.
What makes the business unique?
Determined to keep Elixir alive, Chef Chris Brewer, decided to take on the challenge of running the restaurant. Jane, Skip, and Chris put their heads together and created a GoFundMe and the community came together to ensure that Elixir Restaurant had new ownership. The initial outpouring of community support has not waivered and the restaurant continues to thrive and adapt.
